This paper outlines AONTAS views on building a representative voice for adult learners. The paper is developed in the context of reforms underway in the further education and training sector, which provide greater opportunities for representation from adult learners. The challenges of building a representative voice are outlined, along with proposals of strategies and mechanisms that could be developed to facilitate the diverse views of adult learners in new decision making stuctures in the FET sector.
